Exhibitions

Our exhibitions tell stories of craftsmanship, innovation and the people who powered change. In the permanent displays, you’ll follow the development from handwork to mechanisation, explore the impressive wooden casting patterns used in the foundry, and see how light and electricity transformed everyday life. Together, they reveal how Forsvik became a place where new ideas – and entire industries – were forged.

A visit to Forsvik offers a glimpse into the world that shaped modern Sweden – through the machines, materials and people who built it.

The cast model iron exhibition

From the late 1800s until 1977, the production of cast iron products was the most prominent business at Forsviks bruk. Everything from pans to ship portholes was made here.

Light and power

The exhibition on the workshop’s upper floor is about when electricity came to the mill.
